Today I was curious about whether or not there are health risks involved in inhaling helium. So first of all, today I was at a family event. Like normal family events in a hotel they had helium balloons. Loads of them. Towards the end of the event, knowing that they were in good company, my family decided to mock famous celebrities, politicians etc.in helium voices. I'm sure they each must have had at least 10 balloons full of helium. (Okay maybe a slight exaggeration, who knew helium could be such fun no matter what the age!) And I was just curious does this pose any health risks? So I decided to find out.
Kidzworld.com:'Although inhaling helium is fun it's not healthy. Every time you inhale pure helium, you are not inhaling oxygen. Whatever you do, never inhale helium from a high pressure tank! Besides the serious risk of lung damage, you could end up with bubbles of helium in the arteries that lead to your brain. This can lead to stroke-like symptoms and, of course, death. Still laughing?'

I can't believe how bad helium is for you!! I mean it seems like harmless fun at thetime but it's really hurting you on the inside. I'm glad my curiosity killed my stupidity because I won't be doing that again. Until next time x
