My Summer Reading/Watching list!!
Hey Guys, so here's some reviews of the books/movies I read/watched this Summer. Sorry I know I have a very sci-fi/fantasy taste when it comes to books so please put up with me :)
Okay here we go!!
1) Switched - by Amanda Hocking
An amazing first novel in the Trylle series, I seriously couldn't put it down!!! The novel follows Wendy Everly, who's mother tried to kill her when she was baby, and her journey to find out why. It is a fantasy novel so if you're not into that sort of thing, I won't cry.
2)The Grey - starring Liam Neeson
This movie frustrated me. I love Liam Neeson and all but this movie was the worst movie I've seen in a long time. He acts very well but the plot was pointless. I'm not going to give any spoilers, but the whole plot builds to this climax and then ends. It's like there's a scene missing. No offence to anyone but it was a total time-waster.
3)Deadlocked- by Charlaine Harris
As I think the twelfth book in the 'Sookie Stackhouse' series I was surprised to find I still can't get enough. Harris writes so well it feels like you're in the vampire world of Bon-temps. The plots and twists never end, I just love it!! Again a vampire novel so if it's not your thing skip it.
4) Cyberbully - Starring Emily Osment
I actually watched this movie on You-tube, and cried my eyes out. I think it was a very powerful movie and one that at least everyone should see, even if I don't think the ending accurately portrayed real life. Bring your tissues.
5) Love Bites - by Lynsay Sands
Oh this book. The love between the two main characters gave me butterflies. It kept me reading until 4 o'clock in the morning!! Not one for younger readers. Overall a good plot, likeable characters and some action. Even for people who aren't into vampire novels it's not one to miss!
6) Brave - Starring Kelly MacDonald
I went to see this with my six year old sister and to be honest wasn't expecting much. To my surprise I loved it!! An amazing movie, I'd go see it again and again. Definitely one to bring a kid with if your going to see it, because if you don't you'll look kind of creepy sitting in a cinema full of kids by yourself. The twist is.... Nah I'm not going to tell you... But the great thing is, is that they don't mention it in the adverts either!!!
